Per Björkman

Bio

Started as a management and financial consultant with APB in Brussels working with European financial institutions and blue chip companies conducting operational profitability analyses and implementing performance-enhancing solutions during the late 1980s, later becoming a licensed stockbroker and later a money market director for PK Bank (subsequently Nordea) in Stockholm. In 1990, co-founded and was a partner of SMS, a Scandinavian and UK based management consultancy firm specialising in corporate restructuring of primarily European blue chip companies. The company was successfully sold in 1993. In 1995 was recruited to join Swedish incumbent telecoms operator Telia to develop its international financial business during the deregulation phase with responsibilities including creating, developing and implementing international fixed asset and corporate finance solutions and portfolios for investments in telecommunications infrastructure and third-party channel-to-market relationships and establishing and incorporating organisational subsidiaries/offices in Norway, Denmark, Finland, Poland, Estonia, Latvia, Italy, Germany, Netherlands, France and UK. As Managing Director of Telia Finance, London, UK, was operationally responsible for developing telecoms related financial business activities in the UK, Europe and US markets and built a $1 billion + infrastructure asset portfolio. In 2000 co-founded UK based streaming video service provider Yes Television and acted as President of Yes Television Inc. in Los Angeles, US, responsible for the development of the US regional and vertical markets and participating in establishing corporate activities in Scandinavia, France, Thailand, Singapore, Korea, Philippines, Malaysia, Hong Kong and Australia. Was responsible for and completed fundraisings in excess of $250 million and successfully sold the US regional business in 2003.
